Baby Dedication

We had the privelage of dedicating two babies in our ICHA church in Lusaka this past Sunday. It was such an honor to work with pastor Mantwa as we dedicated these precious lives to God in hopes that they will grow up to serve Him. Brandan spoke from his heart to the parent's, imploring them to set a good example for their children and let God govern their lives so that their kids can have a home filled with the presence of God. We had a wonderful time of prayer over the little ones and their parents. It was a precious time.

The rest of the service was wonderful as well as we heard some on fire preaching from pastor Mantwa. We were blessed as she encouraged her people to seek after God in every situation. Many came to the front to pray once she had concluded. It was wonderful to see the Holy Spirit moving in the hearts of people.

Once the service ended we had a time of fellowship to celebrate the newly dedicated babies, and we got to experience lots more baby snuggles ( Which was Katie's favorite part.) We thank the Lord for a wonderful Lord's day and the part we were able to play in it. He is so very good to us.

Introduction

Who We Are

We are Ben, Kayla, and Elliot Peters. We were married in 2020 and then moved to Lesotho in 2021 as full time missionaries under the ICHA. In December of 2025, God gave us a new team member--Elliot. We love serving the Lord in Lesotho Africa.

Kayla has had a call to missions for much of her life. Even as a young girl, she had a sense that God wanted her to go to Africa as a missionary. She began making trips to Africa in 2011 and in 2017, she spent about 5 months with the Missionaries Darrell and Tonda Miller in South Africa. During that time, she had the opportunity to visit Lesotho where God gave her a more specific calling to Lesotho.

Ben's call to missions came quite a bit later in life. He grew up with a sense that God might have some sort of full-time ministry for him to do, but it was not until 2020 that God started opening up doors and making His will known to Ben and finally sealing the call for mission's to his heart. Since that time, the Lord has enlarged his call to include preaching.

Where We Live

We live in the small, land-locked country of Lesotho. It is surrounded on every side by South Africa. It has a population of around 2.4 million people (World Bank, 2026). We live in a small village called Hamokhehle near the national landmark, Thaba Bosiu. Our mission house sits at 5,600 ft elevation on the edge of a mountain. Not only do we have amazing views, we are on the edge of what could be termed “rural Lesotho.” This means that we don’t have to go as far to reach the unreached villages of Lesotho.

What We Do

There are so many things that ICHA Lesotho does to the reach un-reached, preach the gospel, and teach scriptural holiness. We are committed to working ourselves out of a job. While we certainly do a fair amount of ministry ourselves, we are focusing on training indigenous Christians to take complete charge of the ministry. Weekly ministries include Bible Studies, young-leader training courses using SGC materials with missionary oversight, soup kitchens for vulnerable children, and Sunday services at our 4 churches. Additionally, we have 3 camp meetings, a winter coat and clothing distribution for around 30 vulnerable children, a scholarship program, and we provide Christmas for around 30 vulnerable children.

We thank God for a tremendous youth camp this year. We had over 120 young people registered, not including adults and children, that attended. We definitely had some excitement with our van breaking down while picking people up and other various hiccups during camp. If there is one thing that we have learned as missionaries, it is how to be flexible. Thankfully, The van was able to be fixed by the time camp was over and people were ready to be taken home.

Overall the camp was very successful. The altar was lined nearly every night with people seeking God. Brother Taylor preached some excellent messages that stirred the young people's hearts. The theme for camp was 'Unstoppable', and we focused on the book of Acts.

There is such a hunger for the truth here in South Africa. A theme that we have seen here time and time again is young people wanting to serve God, but they lack the support around them to stay consistent in the faith. There is so much opportunity for youth ministry. We are so excited to begin raising up the next generation of Christian leader out of the young people of South Africa.

At camp we saw a huge increase in Bible memorization this year with the top three young people saying 143, 120, and 118 Bible verses throughout the week, and many others worked diligently at memorizing also. It was encouraging to go to church the Sunday after youth camp and hear the young people reciting verses that they had learned at camp. Bible memorization is such an important tool, and I am so glad that many were utilizing it.

We had an absolute blast with activities and games . This year our games consisted of ultimate rugby, volleyball, kickball, dodgeball, and Bible bowl. By the time it was all said done everyone was exhausted physically and mentally, ( Including us.) It really was a wonderful camp, and although it was sad to see everyone leave, we look forward to youth camp next year.
